Working as a Teacher Aide , Teacher Assistant , Integration AideWork Duties and TasksAs a teacher aide you may perform the following tasks: - assist and participate in activities which improve the physical, social, emotional and intellectual development of children in schools and preschool centres
- prepare indoor or outdoor areas for learning or recreational activities
- assist in supporting children with intellectual, physical and behavioural difficulties with their academic studies
- assist children individually to learn social skills
- assist with the preparation of teaching aids, copying and collating written or printed material
- distribute and collect lesson material
- provide assistance to small groups of students in a school environment
- make sure homes and schools communicate and provide counselling for students and their families.
