B Online Learning rapidly create elearning resources to address your compliance training, company induction, business event, competitive development, product update or other business need.
We have years of experience using many of the common authoring tools. We are experts in content development using Articulate Studio and Articulate Storyline – the latest tool for eLearning authoring.
Articulate Storyline features include a high level of interactivity, contemporary design, intuitive graphical user interface, multiple published output (PC, MAC, IPAD, ANDROID), super bandwidth friendly.
A Rapid Approach That Doesn’t Compromise Quality That Saves Time and Money
A rapid instructional design process, follows similar steps as a traditional instructional design process such as ADDIE but eliminates many of the sub-steps and has far less iteration. The effect of reducing sub-steps and iteration is a reduction in time and cost. Also the authoring tools used to develop rapid eLearning enable users to easily make changes to the content to ensure currency.
We believe that building eLearning requires the involvement of a team of eLearning professionals combined with subject matter experts to validate engaging interactivity through rapid, design processes. Traditional storyboarding can hinder the creative and development process as they only provide a static version that focuses primarily on content. Our rapid prototypes allow stakeholders to experience and review the design, interactivity and overall performance of the eLearning resource in a dynamic environment, live!
We also set out a need to maximise the time and talent of SMEs, who often are primary resources for elearning projects. Too often, these valuable individuals lose days or weeks of work time delivering the same training over and over again. In addition, because they are not professional trainers, presentation development can be painful and less than engaging.
Learner Readiness
One solution does not fit all; different learning technologies will help better address different situations. Typically, there are several drivers that impact “learner readiness” which start with the purpose of the training:
Adult Learning Principles
As a Registered Training Organisation, we recognise the importance of aligning elearning resources to adult learning principles. Many of our designers and developers are also qualified in adult education, to ensure compliance to the Australian Quality Training Framework which is explicit in everything we do. For more information on how to apply adult learning principles in eLearning read our white paper here.
Development Process
Our 4 step rapid eLearning development process below is integrated with open client communication channels and key milestone points to assist with the development of quality eLearning in a cost efficient way.
Your project has been defined and examined extensively by our sales and creative teams during the pre sales process to ensure we will meet your expectations and hopefully exceed them. Every project is defined by a scope of work that has been agreed between the client and B Online Learning.
At the start of the project, the definition is confirmed by the B Online Learning Project Manager and the Client Representative which will include content, audience, any constraints for learning such as literacy, computer abilities, budget, location, ability to travel, the key measurable outcomes, and the overall options for the instructional strategy.
The B Online Learning Project Manager allocates the suitable members of the project team which will have the following skills and experience: instructional design, rapid developer who is also an Articulate Certified Trainer, adult education, graphic design, professional audio narration.
This stage is largely dedicated to researching and identifying available resources, the product desired including branding for templates, learning objectives to be met and technical considerations for eLearning delivery.
Our creative team get to work on a design template focusing on your corporate branding and the eLearning subject. We also complete a “Specifications” template with you to ascertain the required features, functionality and navigation for the course.
We draw on years of extensive experience in not only designing and developing eLearning but also delivering it through our RTO. We continually offer suggestions and solutions to ensure we meet the learning objectives with no surprises.
When we have gathered all of the information we need from you, and before we leave this stage, we gain sign off from your SME (and any other stakeholders appropriate to the project) on the design template to ensure we are on the right track!
The fun part. We get down to developing your eLearning resource. The BOL Project Team are in full swing. Design ideas are created very quickly in the chosen authoring Tool, Articulate Studio or Articulate Storyline using your content.
Your course is coming to life with its inspiring screens, interactive elements, engaging activities and memorable scenarios. The question bank is being developed with a creative mixture of question types: drag and drop, multiple choice, multiple response, sequencing, hotspots. Any custom Adobe Flash interactons or animations are being identified and mapped out for our consideration. If this is not a conversion of existing training material then the subject matter experts write and supply the content for the developers.
We are drawing to the end of the first build of the course… and guess what? You get to see a live, working version! You complete a review of the eLearning Resource, using our “Review” template and offer extensive feedback on our progress. What you love we keep, what you don’t love we change, until you love it all!
You get your second review of the course and normally there are still some tweaks, someone in Legal hadn’t seen it yet, so we make the changes. You see the third version and you are ecstatic. We are ready to roll.
This step integrates the eLearning product into the delivery strategy. There were various delivery options presented to you and discussed in the define stage - your LMS, LearnFlex LMS, web link, intranet - and you have decided what your delivery approach will be.
If it is a B Online Learning delivering option, ie LearnFlex LMS, LSP or Rapid, then we simply upload the course in your environment. Our learning management system team have already been working with you to set up your environment whilst we have been developing the course. And there won’t be any technical issues as we deliver the courses ourselves using the same tools, so no surprises!
We also build a survey using the the LearnFlex Evaluator tool to capture learners summative evaluation data, that you have access to as a graphical representation and a CSV file to use with Excel.
If you already have an LMS, we chat to your IT team and adjust our publish settings to suit your LMS. Then send you the SCORM LMS zipped file to upload to your system.
There may be some tweaks required after you get your feedback in from your learners. We make the changes, then release the final version. After sign off we provide you with ALL the source files. You have the choice to maintain the course inhouse, all you need is an Articulate licence and as the exclusive Certified Articulate Training Provider we can tailor a training workshop to suit you.
